Leave me alone
It really sucks when someone who is supposed to love you unconditionally doesn't because you don't fit their expectation of health / beauty. I like me. And that's all that matters. I'm healthy. I'd appreciate it if you'd stop projecting your insecurities onto me.

Suicide is NOT painless
Another life lost to suicide. That’s the thing about depression - it distorts your reality. It makes you think that no one cares, that everyone would be better off without you. This is NOT TRUE. No matter how angry some one may be at you - they do not want you to die. If they do, they are pieces of shit not worth your time. No one who cares about you wants you to die. I've been there, depression fucking sucks. People DO care, even if it doesn't seem like it, there is always someone to talk to. Message me if you need to talk, or call Samaritans (1 (800) 273-TALK) - call 911 immediately if it's an emergency. You will get through this. You are not alone. You are loved.

Family reunion 2013
We had our family reunion today on my family's farm in Vermont. It's amazing to think that so many people exist today because 2 people (Roscoe & Sarah) got together. And then I get a bit depressed because I'm "breaking the chain" by not having children.

BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf
I made this last night, it was the best meatloaf I've ever made!
BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf
1 package bacon
1 pound lean ground beef
1 pound ground pork
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1 large egg, slightly beaten
1/3 cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Cajun seasonings
1 heaping tablespoon spicy brown mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/3 cup whole milk
3/4 cup cup barbecue sauce (reserve half)
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a sheet pan with foil and fold up edges making a dam to catch the drippings/fat.
In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients but with only half of BBQ sauce
With your super duper clean hands, mix until combined and then form into a 9x5 loaf.
Top with remaining BBQ sauce and then wrap with the bacon
Tent for with foil and cook for 20 - 30 minutes (to prevent the bacon from burning). Remove and cook for the remaining 30 - 40 minutes. Remove from oven and let rest at least 10 minutes, Slice and enjoy

It's amazing how one unexpected fat-shaming comment can transport me back to my teenage years, completely insecure and thinking everyone is making fun of me as I walk down the street

Gregg Marsili helped cover up my friend's rape
He makes me sick!
The incident in question involved a woman named Panayiota Bertzikis, who enlisted in the Coast Guard in 2005. Ms. Bertzikis was serving at the Coast Guard station in Burlington, Vt., in 2006, when she alleged she was raped by a fellow Coast Guard member. According to Ms. Bertzikis, her claim was never investigated by her commanding officer, Mr. Marsili, and no charges were ever filed against her alleged attacker. Instead, Ms. Bertzikis said she was “revictimized” by Mr. Marsili’s inaction. Her experience lead her to create the Military Rape Crisis Center, for which she serves as executive director. As recently as 2011, Ms. Bertzikis was one of 17 plaintiffs in a class-action lawsuit against Defense Secretary Robert Gates and his predecessor, Donald Rumsfeld, for the Pentagon’s handling of reported rapes and sexual abuse.

Barry Goldwater on abortion
He's consider the father of the modern conservative movement.
Today’s so-called ‘conservatives’ don’t even know what the word means. They think I’ve turned liberal because I believe a woman has a right to an abortion. That’s a decision that’s up to the pregnant woman, not up to the pope or some do-gooders or the Religious Right. It’s not a conservative issue at all.”

Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks take out full-page Globe ad to thank Bruins, City of Boston
WOW
In a full-page ad appearing in Friday's edition of The Boston Globe, the Chicago Blackhawks shared an open letter to the people of Boston and the Boston Bruins - the team they defeated to win the Stanley Cup. The letter, signed by Rocky Wirtz, chairman of the Wirtz Corporation, and John McDonough, president and CEO of the Blackhawks, thanked Boston for what happened on and off the ice during the recent Stanley Cup Final. In particular the letter thanked the citizens of Boston for the respect and good sportsmanship they showed to visitors from Chicago during the series.

Base Boston: It’s where many victims of sexual assault in the service get sent.
This is about a friend of mine.
After decades of being all but ignored, the issue of sexual violence in the military has been the focus of a firestorm of attention in recent months. The Oscar-nominated documentary The Invisible War has done its part to give a face and a voice to the crisis, while Congress is working to address the issue with fervor, implementing several new laws to protect members of the armed forces, and holding a flurry of hearings in the past few months to discuss further legislation. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel has called sexual assault within the ranks “unacceptable,” and President Barack Obama has said that the perpetrators of violence are “betraying the uniform.” Meanwhile, the number of reported sexual assaults jumped 34.5 percent in the past year, to 26,300.

Miami Heat fans SUCK
Hundreds Of Heat Fans Leave Game 6 Early; A Nation Laughs
But then a funny thing happened. The basketball gods granted us an all-time thriller. Ginobili missed a FT; LeBron hit a three. Kawhi Leonard missed a FT; Ray Allen hit a three. Tie game. Overtime. And somehow, those Heat fans heading for their cars caught wind. What followed was a desperate rush to get back into the arena, and to pretend they didn't suck. WPLG's Victor Oquendo was there to make sure they didn't go unshamed:
