In a full-page ad appearing in Friday's edition of The Boston Globe, the Chicago Blackhawks shared an open letter to the people of Boston and the Boston Bruins - the team they defeated to win the Stanley Cup. The letter, signed by Rocky Wirtz, chairman of the Wirtz Corporation, and John McDonough, president and CEO of the Blackhawks, thanked Boston for what happened on and off the ice during the recent Stanley Cup Final. In particular the letter thanked the citizens of Boston for the respect and good sportsmanship they showed to visitors from Chicago during the series.

Base Boston: It’s where many victims of sexual assault in the service get sent.
This is about a friend of mine.
After decades of being all but ignored, the issue of sexual violence in the military has been the focus of a firestorm of attention in recent months. The Oscar-nominated documentary The Invisible War has done its part to give a face and a voice to the crisis, while Congress is working to address the issue with fervor, implementing several new laws to protect members of the armed forces, and holding a flurry of hearings in the past few months to discuss further legislation. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel has called sexual assault within the ranks “unacceptable,” and President Barack Obama has said that the perpetrators of violence are “betraying the uniform.” Meanwhile, the number of reported sexual assaults jumped 34.5 percent in the past year, to 26,300.

Miami Heat fans SUCK
Hundreds Of Heat Fans Leave Game 6 Early; A Nation Laughs
But then a funny thing happened. The basketball gods granted us an all-time thriller. Ginobili missed a FT; LeBron hit a three. Kawhi Leonard missed a FT; Ray Allen hit a three. Tie game. Overtime. And somehow, those Heat fans heading for their cars caught wind. What followed was a desperate rush to get back into the arena, and to pretend they didn't suck. WPLG's Victor Oquendo was there to make sure they didn't go unshamed:
